  • FRST offers individual tailored programs, for adults and children, and counselling, as well as couple’s counselling, and social work to help your family heal from family violence.

    You can also visit us during the hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Thursday. After hours appointments are available. We are not open on weekends.

  • Absolutely yes. All of our employees and contractors are bound by strict rules of confidentiality. However, there are exceptions that we are lawfully bound to follow. These exceptions will be discussed with you when you make contact with us.

  • All our approaches are trauma and violence informed and culturally responsive interventions. What intervention is used is determined by what your therapy goals are. Our people are highly skilled and experienced in all the areas of family violence.

  • We are not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 111 and ask for the Police. Generally, we will contact you within 24 hours of receiving a message from you. Often it is the same day.

  • All of our employees and contractors are bound by a Code of Ethics from their registration boards. They have also signed and agreed to abide by a code of conduct which states that they must do no harm.

  • The FRST Healthy Relationships High School programme is written in line with the NZ curriculum. It is a tailored programme aimed at school aged children plus 10 years old. It teaches children how to have happy and safe relationships with their peers, family and the wider school community and more. For older teenagers, the programme covers such things as gender, damaging attitudes, beliefs and behaviours, what love is and what it is not, consent and safety, respectful communication, problem solving and decision making and many more skills. It is fun and interactive.
